AVONMOUTH

Avonmouth is a town in Bristol, England. The town was developed at the mouth of the Avon in the later 19th century because ships were becoming larger and could not get up the narrow River Avon to Bristol. From 1868 docks were constructed, and a big smelting plant followed.
