BRENNER

Brenner is a mountain in the Tyrolese Alps between Innsbruck and Sterzing, reaching a height of 2065 meters. The road from Germany to Italy, traversing this mountain (the Brenner Pass), reaches the elevation of 1420 meters, and is one of the lowest roads practicable for crossing over the main chain of the Alps. A railway through this route was opened in 1867.
