BREST

Brest is a naval base and industrial port on the Rade de Brest at the western extremity of Brittany, France. The castle was built in the 12th century and mofified by Vauban. The town was occupied by the English from 1342 to 1397 and afterwards resisted numerous English attacks from 1513 to 1694.
