Cartagena is a port and town of Spain. Cartagena was founded by the Carthaginians under Hasdrubal about 243 BC, and was called New Carthage. It was taken by Scipio Africanus in 210 BC, and was long an important Roman town. It was ruined by the Goths, and revived in the time of Philip II

Cartagena is a port and industrial city in north west Colombia.
