The Cook islands, Cook's Islands or Hervey Islands are a group of Polynesian islands north-east of New Zealand. They have a total area of 240 km2. The climate is tropical; moderated by trade winds. The terrain is low coral atolls in north; volcanic, hilly islands in south. Natural resources are negligible. The natives believe they migrated from Samoa. By the 20th century the predominate religion was Christian, the majority of the populace being members of the Cook Islands Christian Church. The language is English. Research Cook islands
