DERWENTWATER

Derwentwater or Keswick Lake is a lake and beauty spot in the vale of Keswick, Cumberland, England. Derwentwater is about 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. It extends from Skiddaw on the north to the hills of Borrowdale. Near the south-east corner is the celebrated cascade of Lodore. Its waters are carried to the sea by the River Derwent. There are several islands including Lord's Island which was once the home of the earls of Derwentwater.
