DES MOINES

The Des Moines is the largest river in Iowa, USA. It rises in the south-west of Minnesota and flows in a south-easterly direction until it falls into the Mississippi near Keokuk, after a course of 300 miles.

Des Moines is the capital city of Iowa, USA. The city was laid out in 1846 and incorporated as Fort Des Moines in 1851. In 1857 it became a city and the capital of the State.
