GUILDFORD

Guildford (known as Gyldeforda during the 9th century and recorded in the Domesday Book as Gildeford) is the capital city of Surrey county, England. It is an old town on a sandy hill by a ford of the River Wey (whence it's name, 'Gold Ford').
