KALININGRAD

Kaliningrad is a Baltic seaport of the Russian SFSR, formerly called Konigsberg, it was assigned to the Soviet Union in 1945 and renamed in honour of President Kalinin. The philosopher Immanuel Kant was born here in 1724.
Kaliningrad is the home of the Soviet navy's Baltic fleet as its port is ice-free all the year round.
