LAUNCESTON

Launceston, officially called Dunheved otherwise Launceston, (erroneously recorded in the Domesday Book as Lanscavetone) is a town in Cornwall, England. Launceston was originally named Dounhed until in 1155 the canons of nearby St Stephens moved across the valley to Dounhed and took the name of their village with them - Lannstefan. It was the county town of Cornwall until 1835.
Launceston is the second-largest city of Tasmania.
