The Probert Encyclopaedia of Places of the World

LEITH

Leith (known in the 12th century as Inverlet and later in the 14th century as Inverlethe) is a former port and now part of north Edinburgh, Scotland. Leith was Scotland's principal port from the mid-12th century until the mid-19th century, trading with France, the Low Countries, the Baltic and America before becoming part of Edinburgh in 1920.
Leith is a city in Grant County, North Dakota, USA.
