MORECAMBE

Morecambe is a resort town on Morecambe Bay in Lancashire, England. Prior to the 19th century the town was known as Poulton-le-Sands and consisted of three villages: Bare, Poulton and Torrisholme. With the arrival of the railway in 1847, the area developed into a holiday resort and became popular with the textile workers from Yorkshire and soon became known as `Bradford-by-the-Sea'.
