NORTH DAKOTA

North Dakota is a state in the USA. North Dakota was originally a part of the Louisiana cession. Before the settlement of the boundary between the United States and Canada it was under British rule. A settlement was made at Pembina in 1812 by Lord Selkirk, who supposed that the region belonged to the English. With South Dakota it was organized as the Territory of Dakota in 1861. In 1889 on November the 2nd, North Dakota became a State. A prohibitory law went into. effect in July, 1890.
