PAIGNTON

Paignton (recorded in the Domesday Book as Peintone) is a town and former village in Devon, England. Paignton was a large village - called Paington - until the middle of the 19th century when it was developed as a huge seaside resort because of its sandy beaches, and the spelling of the name changed to Paignton by the railway company.
