SANDWICH

Sandwich (recorded in the Domesday Book as Sandwice) is an old town and one time naval port in Kent, England . The harbour silted up at the beginning of the 16th century, and despite a brief respite in the middle of the 19th century when the harbour was improved Sandwich remains a picturesque Tudor town.
