SANTO DOMINGO

Santo Domingo (San Domingo) is the capital and chief sea port of the Dominican Republic. It lies on the south-east coast at the mouth of the Ozama, and has a commodious port. It is the oldest European city in the New World, having been founded in 1494 by Bartholomew Columbus.
