SOUTHWARK

Southwark (recorded in the Domesday Book as Sudwerca) was originally a defensive fort south of the River Thames providing an outpost for the city of London, later it was a town in Surrey, it is now a borough of south central London, east of London Bridge. It is home to the famous Tooley Street.
