ST AUGUSTINE

St Augustine is a city in St Johns County, Florida, USA. St Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. It was Settled by the Spaniards under Menendez in 1565, when a fort was erected. It was several times attacked by the French, English and Indians. It came into the possession of the English by the Treaty of 1763, was ceded to Spain in 1783, and transferred to the United States in 1819.
