SUMATRA

Sumatra is the second largest Indonesian island. It is one of the Greater Sunda Islands. Formerly ruled by the Dutch, Sumatra joined Indonesia in 1945. The island was devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami that occurred on December the 26th 2004.
