TAJIKISTAN

The republic of Tajikistan is a country in central Asia. Tajikistan was part of the Persian Empire until the 8th century before being taken by the Arabs, and then the Mongols during the 13th century. In 1860 Tajikistan was taken by Russia, gaining independence in 1991.
