TIBET

The Autonomous region of Tibet is a country in south west China. The language is Tibetan with Chinese widely spoken. The religion is Buddhist. From the 5th centurt Tibet was an independent theocracy led by Buddhist lamas or monks until it came under Chinese rule in 1700, regaining independence in 1912, only to lose control to China again in 1959.
