TORQUAY

Torquay is a seaside resort town in Devon, England. Until 1790 it was a quiet fishing village, then during the Napoleonic wars it hosted the wives of Naval officers who were based on ships anchored at Torbay. From the middle of the 19th century it became a popular seaside resort.
