TUVALU

Tuvalu is an island country in the south west Pacific. The language is Tuvaluan and English. The nine islands which comprise Tuvalu were from 1915 until 1975 part of Britain's colony of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, the Ellice islands separating in 1975 and adopting the name Tuvalu. Tuvalu became independent in 1978.
