WALLIS AND FUTUNA

Wallis and Futuna are two groups of islands in the south Pacific Ocean with a total area of 274 km2 forming an overseas territory of France. The climate is tropical; hot with a rainy season from November to April and with a cool, dry season from May to October. The terrain is of volcanic origin with low hills. Natural resources are negligible. The religion is largely Roman Catholic. The language is French with Wallisian also spoken.
