The Uhu (SdKfz 251/20) was a German half-track of the Second World War developed for use on the Eastern Front to provide illumination for night attacks for the panzer units. The Uhu was a variant of the SdKfz 251 manned by a crew of four, unarmed and carried an infrared searchlight.

The UR-416 was a West German four-wheeled armoured personnel carrier developed during the 1960s from the civilian Unimog vehicle. The UR-416 was manned by a crew of two and carried eight passengers protected by 9 mm thick armour and armed with a 7.62 mm machine-gun. A Daimler-Benz OM 352 six- cylinder diesel engine provided a top speed of 85 kmh and a range of 700 km. Exported models are widely used in riot-control duties, being fitted with public address systems.
