The Negev is an Israeli gas operated, open-bolt, selective fire light machine-gun and assault rifle. It is chambered for the 5.56 mm NATO cartridge and is fed from a belt, drum or box magazine and has a rate of fire selectable between 650 and 950 rounds-per-minute. The Negev can be fitted with a bipod, tripod or fired from the hip and can be fitted with a standard 460 mm barrel, or a shorter 330 mm barrel and a rifle magazine for use as an assault rifle.

The Neuhausen KE7 was a Swiss light machine-gun designed by Kiraly and Ende and made in Switzerland by the SIG company and sold in considerable numbers to China. It was recoil-operated and air-cooled and took a 7.5 mm Swiss Service calibre round from a 20-round box magazine and had a rate of fire of 550 rounds per minute. The Neuhausen KE7 was in production from 1929 to 1935.

The Norinco Type 67 is a Chinese gas-operated light-machine-gun which replaced the China Type 53 and China Type 58 machine-guns with front-line troops. The Norinco Type 67 is chambered for the 7.62 mm X 54R cartridge which it takes from a 100-round belt-feed and fires with a cyclic rate of 650 rounds per minute and a muzzle velocity of 835 meters per second to an effective range of 800 meters. The Norinco Type 67 has a 597 mm long barrel and is fitted with a pillar foresight and adjustable leaf notch rearsight.

The Norinco Type 74 is a Chinese gas-operated light-machine-gun introduced in 1974.The Norinco Type 74 is chambered for the 7.62 mm calibre cartridge which it takes from a 101-round drum magazine and fires at a cyclic rate of 750 rounds per minute and a muzzle velocity of 735 meters per second.

The NSV is a Russian machine-gun produced since the 1970s, first as a commander's guns for mounting on tanks, then as a heavy support weapon for infantry, and then as a tank mounted anti-aircraft weapon. The NSV is chambered for the 12.7 mm Soviet cartridge which it takes from a belt feed and fires at a rate of 750 rounds per minute. The NSV is also used by the Finnish army.
