The Heckler and Koch HK32 is a series of German delayed blowback selective fire rifles based upon the G3 rifle model. The Heckler and Koch HK32 takes a 7.62 mm X 39 cartridge from a 20-, 30- or 40-round box magazine and fires with a muzzle velocity of between 690 and 730 metres per second depending upon model, the short barrel carbine version having a lower muzzle velocity. The Heckler and Koch HK32 has a 390 mm long barrel, the carbine model having a 322 mm long barrel, and either a fixed or retractable butt. The foresight is of the post type, the rearsight comprises a 100 meter V battlesight and apertures for 200, 300 and 400 metres. All models have a cyclic rate of 750 rounds per minute.

The Heckler and Koch HK33 is a German delayed blowback selective fire automatic rifle. It went into production in 1968 as a variant of the G3 designed for the NATO 5.56 mm cartridge. It takes a 20-, 25- or 40-round box magazine and has a cyclic rate of 750 rounds per minute and a muzzle velocity of 920 meters-per-second. The Heckler and Koch HK33 has a rate of fire of 100 rounds per minute in automatic mode and 40 rounds per minute in single shot mode. It has a 390 mm long barrel, the carbine model (HK33A1 also known as the Heckler and Koch HK33E) 322 mm long and is fitted with a post foresight and a rearsight comprising a V battlesight at 100 metres and apertures at 200, 300 and 400 metres. A telescopic sight may also be fitted. The Heckler and Koch HK33 has an effective range of 400 metres.

The Heckler and Koch HK36 could fire in single-shot, automatic fire or bursts of two, three, four or five rounds. It had a cyclic rate of between 1100 and 1200 rounds per minute. The Heckler and Koch HK36 had a 398.8 mm long barrel and was fitted with a reflex sight with daylight screen and a beta light for poor light conditions.
