The Bushmaster X17S Bull pup rifle is an American semi-automatic gas-pressure operated rifle. The X17S is made from black phosphate coated steel with a plastic stock and is chambered for the .223 Remington (5.56 mm NATO) cartridge and takes a 30-round box magazine. It has a 21.5 inch long barrel and a standard sight in the carrying handle and a mounting for a telescopic sight.

The Bushmaster XM 15 is a range of American rifles and carbines forming high quality copies of the Armalite AR-15 rifle. All models of the XM 15 are semi-automatic, chambered for the .223 Remington (5.56 mm NATO) cartridge and take a 30-round magazine. Both military and civilian variations are produced with barrel lengths between 34.5 inches and 38.25 inches.
