X-22A

The Bell D2127 (US Navy designation X-22A) was a tilting duct VTOL research aircraft developed by Bell for the US navy during the early 1960's, and first displayed in 1965. The X-22A was a cantilever monoplane with wings mounted at the rear of the fuselage, each with a tilting duct built into the leading-edge. The X-22A was powered by four General Electric YT58-GE-8D shaft turbine engines providing a top speed of 523 kmh and an endurance of two hours flying time. The X-22A carried a crew of two seated side-by-side and up to ten passengers.

XA-8

The American Helicopter XA-8 (US Army designation XH-26) was a single-seater pulse-jet driven collapsible lightweight helicopter designed for Army observation and reconnaissance duties first flown in 1952. The XA-8 was designed to be air-dropped in a small package, and then field assembled by two men in about twenty minutes. Assembled, the XA-8 had a top speed of 128 kmh and an endurance of 1.5 hours flying time.

XH-51A

The XH-51A was a Lockheed Model 186 helicopter produced for the US Army modified for research at higher speeds than the original Lockheed Model 186, by adding a Pratt and Whitney J60-P-2 turbojet mounted on the port side of the cabin and cantilever mid-set wings. The XH-51A first flew in 1964 and in 1965 achieved a speed of 438 kmh - a record for a rotorcraft.

XIAN H-6

The Xian H-6 is a Chinese medium bomber, reconnaissance and anti-ship warplane in service since the 1970's, based on the Soviet Tu-16. The Xian H-6 is powered by two Xian Wopen-8 turbojets providing a top speed of 992 kmh and a maximum range of 4300 km. Armaments consist of six Type 23-1 23 mm cannons mounted in a twin-gun tail turret and two twin-gun remote controlled ventral and dorsal barbettes, and up to 9000 lb of disposable stores carried in a lower-fuselage weapons bay.

The Xian JH-7 is a Chinese two-seater all-weather interdiction and attack warplane first flown in 1988. The Xian JH-7 is powered by two Xian WS-9 turbofans providing a top speed of Mach 1.69. Armaments consist of a 23 mm Type 23-3 two-barrelled cannon mounted in the nose and disposable stores carried on four under-wing hard points and two wing-tip hard points.

XIAN Y-7

The Xian Y-7 is a Soviet-designed Chinese short/medium-range light transport aircraft based on the An-24 and in service since 1984. The Xian Y-7 is powered by two Donagan Wojiang-5AI turboprops providing a top speed of 518 kmh and a range of 910 km fully laden. The Xian Y-7 carries a flight crew of five and up to 52 passengers or 5500 kg of freight in the cabin.

The XL-14 Maya was a Filipino three-seater experimental general utility aircraft developed during the 1950's to test the suitability of locally produced materials, such as locally grown woods, for use in aircraft construction. The XL-14 Maya was a high-wing strut-braced monoplane of locally grown wood construction powered by a Lycoming O-235-2 four-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine providing a top speed of 184 kmh and a range of 480 km.

XL-15 AMBULANCE

The XL-15 Ambulance was a Filipino four-seater general utility, liaison and ambulance aircraft of the 1950's. The XL-15 Ambulance was a high-wing semi-cantilever monoplane of wooden construction powered by a Lycoming O-425A six-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine providing a top speed of 217 kmh and a range of 868 km. The XL-15 Ambulance seated four persons in pairs, or for ambulance duties carried two stretchers one above the other plus a medical attendant and pilot.
