Baltimore is an industrial city and seaport in Maryland, USA. Baltimore takes its name from Lord Baltimore, the founder of Maryland, and was founded in 1729-1730 and incorporated as a city in 1796. It is the home of Johns Hopkins university. The city separated from Baltimore County in 1851.
