Black cumin (Nigella sativa) or fennel flower, is an annual herb native to southern Europe and western Asia, with an erect, branched stem and alternate, finely divided, feathery, greyish-green leaves. The flowers are bluish-white in colour, star-shaped, terminal and solitary without petals. The fruit is a globose capsule with small black, rough seeds. Black cumin is widely cultivated as a spice, the peppery seeds being added to curries and other hot dishes and the seeds are widely believed to cure most ailments. Research Black Cumin
