In the USA, a census designated place (CDP) is a community of non-fixed geographical boundaries identified by the United States CensusBureau for statistical reporting. According to the US CensusBureau, 'CDPs are delineated to provide data for settled concentrations of population that are identifiable by name but are not legally incorporated under the laws of the state in which they are located.' A CDP differs from an incorporated place (village, town or city) by its lack of legal officials and legal status. Research Census Designated Place
