The Dachs is a German Gepard Class missile fast attack craft of 391 tons displacement. Four MTU MA16V 956 SB80 diesel engines rated at 18000 hp provide a top speed of 40 knots and a range of 4160 km at 16 knots. She carries a complement of 34 including four officers. As well as having mine laying capabilities, she is armed with four Aerospatiale Exocet MM38 anti-ship missiles; a GDC RAM 21 cell point anti-air defence system; one OTO Melara 76 mm/62 compact dual-purpose gun.
