Dili is the capital of East Timor.

East Timor (Timor Loro-sae) is a country on the island of Timor in the Malay Archipelago. It was formerly a Portuguese colony until 1975, when the Portugese left and the Revolutionary Front of East Timor occupied the capital and proclaimed East Timor's independence. In reponse, Indonesia invaded East Timor and declared it a province.

Portugese Timor (East Timor) was a former Portuguese overseas province in the Malay Archipelago, consisting of the east of the island of Timor, an enclave on the north-west coast, and the islands of Atauro and Jaco. The province declared its independence from Portugal in 1975 and was immediately invaded by Indonesia which annexed the province.
