RICHARD BURTON

Richard Burton (real name Richard Walter Jenkins Jr) was a Welsh actor, film producer and director. He was born in 1925 at Pontrydyfen and died in 1984 of a cerebral hemorrhage. In the 1960s, Richard Burton had a public affair with a fourteen year-old school girl, justifying it with the grossly inaccurate claim that 'it's everyman's fantasy to make love to a school girl'. His outspoken attack on Winston Churchill led him to be barred from appearing in further BBC productions, but he was prolific in Hollywood films and is remembered for twice being married to and twice divorced from Elizabeth Taylor.
