In Lapp mythology, Erlik was the first created being. He was made by the sky god Ulgan from a speck of mud floating in the primordial ocean. Hoping that by giving Erlik form he would help in creating the rest of the universe, Ulgan sent him to fetch mud. But Erlik was an unpleasant fellow and tried to cross Ulgan, who banished him to the underworld. Research Erlik
