Billy Bremner was a Scottish association football player. He was born in 1942 at Stirling and died in 1997. Billy Bremner started his professional football career with Leeds United, having been rejected by both Arsenal and Chelsea because of his small stature. At Leeds United FC Billy Bremner made 771 appaearances between 1959 and 1976 before leaving to play for Hull City in 1976, leaving them for Doncaster Rovers in 1978 and retiring from playing in 1982 to become a manager. During his career Billy Bremner was captain of Leeds United FC and also captained in Scotland in 54 internationals. Less honourably he was infamously sent off for fighting with Kevin Keegan in the 1974 Charity Shield football match at Wembley.

Norman Hunter was an English association football player. He was born in 1943 at Eighton Banks. He started playing professionally for Leeds United FC in 1961, making 724 appearances before leaving Leeds for Bristol City FC in 1976 for whom he made 108 appearances before moving to Barnsley FC in 1979. He retired from professional football in 1983. During his career he was captain of the English soccer squad twenty-eight times. Norman Hunter played as a defender, and had a reputation for being an aggressive player, the popular saying at the time being 'Norman Hunter bites yer legs'.

Chelsea FC is an Association Football club in London. It was founded in 1904 and accepted into the second division of the football league. In 1997 Chelsea FC won the FA Cup in 1970, 1997 and again in 2000. Chelsea FC play at Stamford Bridge, which was opened in 1877 and at first used by the London Athletics Club and after changing ownership was offered to Fulham FC, who declined the offer to use the ground which instead was used by the newly formed Chelsea FC who rented the ground during the football season.

Coventry City FC is an English Association Football Club. Coventry City FC was formed in 1883 by employees of the Singers bicycle firm, and was known then as 'Singers', changing its name to Coventry City in 1898. Coventry City FC play at Highfield Road, where they have played since 1899. Coventry City were elected to the Football League Division Two in 1919. In 1987 Coventry City FC won the FA Cup.

Everton FC is an Association Football club in Liverpool, England. It was founded in 1878 by men from a Sunday School, and named St Domingo Church Sunday School Club. The name was quickly changed to Everton the same year, and the club became professional in 1885. In 1995 Everton won the FA Cup.

The Association Football Cup (FA Cup) competition was inaugurated in 1871, being contested originally by fifteen clubs, all amateur, the first final being played at Kennington Oval in 1872 between the Wanderers and the Royal Engineers - the Wanderers winning 1-0, since 1923 it was played at Wembley Stadium. In 1884 the cup was won by Blackburn Rovers, after which amateur teams started to fall out of the competition, The first final at Wembley was played in 1923 when Bolton Wanderers beat West Ham United FC 2-0.
