Bowler was a British situation comedy television show written by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, starring George Baker, Fred Beauman, Renny Lister and Gretchen Franklin, about a London gang boss determined to improve his social standing. Bowler was produced by London Weekend Television and aired during 1973.

Scooby Doo is an American animated cartoon television series for children by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, about four young people - brave Fred Jones, glamorous Daphne Blake, brainy Velma Dinkley and cowardly Norville Rogers, better known as 'Shaggy' - and their cowardly pet great dane - Scoobert (known as Scooby) Doo - who each show solve a supernatural crime, which they call a mystery. The original 1960's and 1970's cartoon series spawned sequels and feature-length films as well as a live action film. The original stories were written by Ken Spears and Joe Ruby and first aired in 1969 on the CBS television network in the USA.

Frederick James Archer was an English jockey. He was born in 1857 at Cheltenham and died in 1886. He was apprenticed to a trainer at the age of ten and won his first Derby in 1877, and was the premier jockey for ten years. He committed suicide by shooting himself during an attack of typhoid fever in 1886. At the age of 13 he rode 'Athol Daisy' to victory in a nursery at Chesterfield. During his career he rode in 8084 races and won 2748, heading the list of winning jockeys during the season 1873 to 1885, and winning five derbys, six St Legers, four Two Thousand and four Oaks.
