G7E T5

The G7e T5 (Zaunkonig 1 or Gnat as the allies called it) was a German 21 inch passive homing torpedo used by submarines of the Second World War, entering service in 1943. The torpedo was intended for use against convoy escorts. It had a range of 5700 metres and travelled at a speed of 25 knots. It was armed with a 200 kg Hexanite explosive warhead.

The Folland FO-141 (Gnat) was a British single-seater light fighter aircraft designed for export. The Folland FO-141 was a shoulder-wing cantilever, swept-wing monoplane powered by a Bristol Siddeley Orpheus 701 turbojet engine providing a top speed of 1026 kmh and a range of 925 km from 240 gallons of fuel carried internally and 60 gallons in two under-wing drop tanks. Armaments consisted of two 30 mm Aden cannons mounted in the air intake fairings, one each side of the fuselage, and provision for carrying two 500 lb bombs or twelve 3-inch rockets or other disposable stores on two under-wing mountings. An advanced trainer variation was also produced and used by the British RAF from 1962 until 1979.

The HAL Ajeet is an Indian single-seater interceptor and light attack aircraft, developed from the Folland Gnat lightweight fighter, and first flown in March 1975. The HAL Ajeet is powered by a HAL Orpheus Bor.2 Mk 701-O1 turbojet providing a top speed of 1225 kmh and a range of 175 km depending upon payload. It is armed with two 30 mm Aden Mk 4 cannon in the sides of the inlets and up to 1500 lbs of disposable stores carried on four hard points, two under each wing.

The Hawker Siddeley Gnat was a British single-seater lightweight fighter and fighter-bomber aircraft in service from 1958 to the late 1980's. The Hawker Siddeley Gnat was a shoulder-wing cantilever monoplane powered by a Rolls-Royce Orpheus Bor.2 Mk 701-1 turbojet which provided a top speed of 1118 kmh and a maximum range of 805 km with two drop-tanks. Armaments consisted of two Aden Mk 4 30 mm cannons on the outer side of each inlet and up to 1000 lbs of disposable stores, typically comprising two 500 lb bombs or twelve 76 mm rockets, carried on four under-wing hard points.

The Hawker Siddeley Gnat T.Mk 1 (Hawker Siddeley Gnat Trainer) was a British two-seater tandem advanced trainer aircraft developed from the Hawker Siddeley Gnat fighter aircraft, but with a larger wing and tail unit and increased fuel capacity. The Hawker Siddeley Gnat Trainer was a shoulder-wing cantilever monoplane powered by a Bristol Siddeley Orpheus 101 turbojet providing a top speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 1200 km, increasing to 1900 km when carrying additional external fuel tanks. The Hawker Siddeley Gnat Trainer was equipped with four under-wing hard points for carrying disposable stores including two external fuel tanks, Bullpup air-to-surface missiles, Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, camera pods for tactical reconnaissance, or pods containing Aden canon or Browning machine-guns.

GNAT

HMS Gnat was a British River Gunboat of 625 tons displacement designed by the Yarrow company during the Great War and launched in 1915 and sunk during the Second World War. HMS Gnat was powered by Yarrow boilers providing a top speed of 14 knots. She carried a complement of between 54 and 65 and was armed with two 6 inch guns; one 3 inch anti-aircraft gun and ten smaller guns.
