Hablot Knight Browne was an English cartoonist. He was born in 1815 at Kennington and died in 1882. Better known by the pseudonym of Phiz, in 1835 he succeeded Seymour as the illustrator of Dickens's Pickwick, and was afterwards engaged to illustrate Nicholas Nickleby, Dombey and Son, Martin Chuzzlewit, David Copperfield, and other works of that author. He also illustrated the novels of Lever, Ainsworth, etc, besides sending many comic sketches to the illustrated serials of the time. Research Hablot Browne
