HOSYO

The Hosyo was a Japanese aircraft carrier of 7470 tons displacement launched in 1921. The Hosyo was powered by eight Kanpon oil-fired boilers providing a top speed of 25 knots. She carried a complement of twenty-six aircraft and was armed with four 5.5-inh guns; two 3-inch anti-aircraft guns and two machine-guns. An unusual feature of the Hosyo was her moveable funnels which could be lowered to a horizontal position.
