Jan Davidsz Van Heem was a Dutch painter. He was born in 1603 at Utrecht and died in 1683. He studied under his father, and soon obtained large sums for his pictures, which are characterized by great delicacy and attention to detail and truth and brilliancy of colouring. His Madonnas, etc, bordered with garlands of fruits and flowers, were also famous. He was a master of fruit and flower painting. Research Jan Heem
