Danger Mouse is a British animated cartoon television show for children by Cosgrove/Hall Productions Limited about a secret-agent white mouse - voice provided by David Jason - and his cowardly sidekick assistant, a hamster called Penfold - voice supplied by Terry Scott. Danger Mouse first aired in 1981. Typically of British children's television shows, the parents are not forgotten and Danger Mouse includes numerous witty remarks aimed at amusing parents watching the show together with their children.

Amy Johnson was an English aviator. She was born in 1903 at Hull, Humberside and died in 1941. She became a pilot in 1929 and in 1930 flew solo from England to Australia in a second-hand De Havilland DH 60 Gipsy Moth aircraft (christened Jason Wanderer) which her father bought for her, setting a new speed record, breaking the record held by Bert Hinkler - despite losing two days after hitting a ditch while landing at Insein which caused considerable damage to the plane - for which she won a prize of £10,000 awarded by the London Daily Mail newspaper. During the Second World War she was a pilot with the Air Transport Auxiliary and died after bailing out over the Thames estuary.

Bertel Thorwaldsen was a Danish sculptor. He was born in 1770 at Copenhagen and died in 1844. His father had been a carver of ships' figure heads, and Bertel Thorwaldsen started studying art when he was eleven years old at the free classes of the Copenhagen Acacdemy. In 1793 he gained the gold medal and the scholarship enabling him to spend three years abroad. In 1796 he went to Rome, where in 1809 he produced a figure of Jason which won him reputation. He remained in Italy until 1819 when he returned to Copenhagen for three years before returning to Rome.
