Joachim Lelewel was a Polish historian. He was born in 1786 at Warsaw and died in 1861. He was professor of history at Vilna from 1814 to 1824, when he was dismissed for taking part in secret insurrectionary movements. He was later banished in 1829 for being a prominent leader in the Polish revolution, and died in Paris. Research Joachim Lelewel
