The ISO (International Standards Organisation) assigns a two character code to each country name. These codes are used by Internet 'whois' databases (these two character abbreviations are the whois country codes) and also other applications.

The Kazakh Pony is an ancient breed of working ponies from Kazakhstan. The Kazakh Pony has two sub-types: the Dzhabe and the Adaev, the Adaev being slightly lighter framed and more lively than the Dzhabe. The Kazakh Pony stands 14 hands high, are short and sturdy in appearance and have a thick waterproof coat. They are not very suitable for riding, having an uncomfortable short and choppy stride.

Giorgiy Malenkov was a Soviet statesman. He was born in 1902 and died in 1988. He was the Soviet premier from 1953 to 1955. He joined the Communist Party in 1920 and was involved in the collectivisation of agriculture and the purges of the 1930s under Stalin. He became a member of the Politburo and deputy premier in 1946, succeeding Stalin as Party first secretary and premier in 1953. In 1955 he resigned as premier, admitting responsibility for the failure of the Soviet agricultural policy, and in 1957 was sent to Kazakhstan as the manager of a hydroelectric plant.

The Kazakh are a pastoral Kyrgyz people of Kazakhstan. Kazakhs also live in China (Xinjiang, Gansu, and Qinghai), Mongolia, and Afghanistan. There are 5- 7 million speakers of Kazakh, a Turkic language belonging to the Altaic family. They are predominantly Sunni Muslim, although pre-Islamic customs have survived.
Kazakhs herd horses and make use of camels; they also keep cattle. Traditionally the Kazakhs lived in tents and embarked on seasonal migrations in search of fresh pastures. Collectivised herds were established in the 1920s and 1930s.

The Uigur are a Turkic people living in north west China and Kazakhstan; they form about 80% of the population of the Chinese province of Xinjiang Uygur. There are about 5 million speakers of Uigur, a language belonging to the Turkic branch of the Altaic family; it is the official language of the province.

The OTS-02 'Kiparis' is a Kazakhstan blowback-operated sub-machine-gun designed for internal security forces. The OTS-02 is chambered for the 9 mm Makarov cartridge which it takes from a 20- or 30-round box magazine and fires either single-shot or fully automatic at a cyclic rate of 900 rounds-per-minute with a muzzle velocity of 335 meters-per-second.
