Picture of Lahti L-35

The Lahti L-35 (also known as the Lahti M35) was a Finnish short recoil, semi-automatic military pistol designed by Aimo Lahti, manufactured by Valtion Kivaarithedas (VKT) Jyvaskyla, and adopted by the Finnish armed forces in 1935, replacing the Luger, and which saw action in the Finnish campaign against the Russians and in the early part of the Second World War. The Lahti L-35 was chambered for the 9 mm Parabellum cartridge which it took from an 8-round magazine and had a 119 mm barrel. The Lahti L-35 had a blade foresight, notch rearsight and an effective range of 40 metres firing with a muzzle velocity of 350 metres per second and a arte of fire of 30 rounds per minute. The Lahti L-35 was adopted in a modified form, manufactured by Husqvarna, by the Swedish armed forces under the designation Model 40.
