Mabel Albertson was an American actress. She was born in 1901 at Lynn, Massachusetts, and died in 1982 of alzheimer's disease. A smallish, grey-blonde haired lady with expressive eyes, a smirky smile and a whiny but sharp monotone voice, she was most often cast as the meddling mother or mother-in-law. She was one of the first female writers for stage and radio and made her film debut in the 1939 'Mutiny on the Black Hawk' but then did not return to films until 1953 primarily concentrating on her radio career.
