Abelmoschus is a genus of tropical plants of the mallow family. It yields edible fruits, called okro (also called okra and ochro) which is used in soups.

Jew's mallow (Corchorus olitorius) is an African annual plant belonging to the family Tiliaceae. It grows to a height of 45 centimetres and bears long, sharply-toothed leaves, the young leaves being eaten as a salad.

Common Mallow (Malva sylvestris) is a biennial or perennial herb of the family Malvaceae with a spindle-shaped tap root and an erect, ascending or decumbent stem. The basal leaves are roundish, shallowly lobed and long- stalked. The stem leaves are alternate, shorter-stalked, deeply palmately lobed and toothed. The flowers are rose-purple in colour with prominent violet veins and grow in clusters in the leaf axils. The flowers have five notched petals.

The Mallow Skipper (Carcharodus alceae) is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae found in north Africa, across southern to central Europe and east into central Asia in dry sunny locations and the grassy banks between fields. Two or three overlapping generations are produced between April and September.

Musk-mallow (Malva moschata) is a British erect, hairy-stemmed perennial plant. The upper leaves are palmately five to seven-lobed, each lobe being twice pinnately lobed. The flowers have at most three sparsely hairy epicalyx segments. The petals are bright pink and twice as long as the sepals. The fruit is circular, many segmented and covered with long white hairs.

TREE MALLOW

Tree mallow (Lavater arborea) is a shrub of the natural order Malvaceae native to the European coasts. It forms a stout, erect, woody stem between 1.5 and 2 metres high, and its large roundish leaves are cut into from five to nine lobes with toothed edges. The glossy purple flowers, much like those of mallow and holly-hock, are 4 cm across.

Beriev Be-10 carried a crew of four or five and was armed with four 23 mm cannons and up to 5000 kg of disposable stores.

MALLOW

HMS Mallow was a British Flower Class corvette of 980 tons displacement launched in 1940. HMS Mallow was powered by two 3-drum type boilers providing a top speed of 16 knots. She carried a complement of 85 and was armed with one 4-inch dual-purpose gun; two 20 mm anti-aircraft guns and Hedgehog multiple spigot mortar.
