LACHES

In law, laches is neglect and unreasonable delay in enforcing an equitable right. If a plaintiff with full knowledge of the facts takes an unnecessarily long time to bring an action (e.g. to set aside a contract obtained by fraud) the court will not assist him; hence the maxim 'the law will not help those who sleep on their rights'. No set period is given but if the action is covered by limitation-of-actions legislation, the period given will not be shortened. Otherwise the time allowed depends on the circumstances.

MALIN AKERMAN

Picture of Malin Akerman

Malin Akerman is a Swedish model, actress and pop singer. Malin Akerman was born in 1978 at Stockholm, and moved with her family to Canada when she was two years old. By the age of five she was modelling and appearing in television commercials before at the age of seventeen winning the Ford Supermodel of Canada search which led to an international modelling career and a development of her acting career, though she still found time to study psychology at York University. Malin Akerman was also the lead singer with the rock band Ozono, later known as 'The Petalstones', having met Francesco Sondelli, one of the founding members of the band Ozono, while she was acting in her film debut in 'The Utopian Society' . Renowned for her blonde hair and good looks, Malin Akerman quickly became a favourite pin-up girl and was rated in the Maxim magazine top 100 pin-up list of 2008, a rating sadly justified by the large number of searches conducted on the web for pictures of Malin Akerman nude.

GATLING GUN

Picture of Gatling Gun

The Gatling gun was a non-automatic revolving machine-gun, invented by Richard Gatling in the 19th century, with a cluster of six barrels and a charging breech at which the cartridges were loaded into the barrels and fired in succession by means of a crank operated by the operator. The Gatling gun was adopted by the British army and navy in 1871 but were soon after the South African War superseded by automatic machine guns of the Maxim and other types which gave a quicker rate of fire and were worked with less difficulty. Later the term Gatling gun was applied to any multi-barrel machine gun.
