Nabis was a native of Sparta in ancient Greece, who made himself tyrant in 207 BC. He attacked Megalopolis and seized Messene in 202 BC. In 201 BC he was defeated by the forces of the Achaean League under Philopoemen and in 192 BC he was assassinated by Alexamenus, a leader of mercenaries. Research Nabis
